Why posting more on LinkedIn isn’t the answer

Before we talk about LinkedIn posting, let’s take a step back.

Because most of the frustration people feel on LinkedIn has very little to do with how often they post, and a lot to do with something else entirely.

It’s not about posting more

A lot of people come to us feeling pressure to show up more on LinkedIn. To post consistently. To share opinions. To “build a personal brand.”

And yet, even when they try, it still feels awkward or forced. Or worse, it feels like nothing changes at all.

That’s usually not a posting problem.
It’s a clarity problem.

What’s really going on

When your direction isn’t clear, posting more just adds noise. You end up sharing content without knowing who it’s for, what it’s meant to signal, or where it’s meant to lead.

Visibility doesn’t come from volume.
It comes from alignment.

What actually works

When your profile clearly reflects who you are, what you do well, and where you’re headed, LinkedIn starts working differently.

Recruiters understand you faster.
Conversations feel easier to start.
Opportunities come through messages, not likes.

We see this shift all the time.

People stop forcing content and start focusing on clarity. They refine how they position their experience. They become easier to recognise and remember. And often, they post less.

Visibility isn’t about being everywhere

It’s about being understood.

You don’t need to perform or share constantly to be visible. When the foundation is clear, LinkedIn becomes a tool that supports you quietly in the background.

How we support this inside People & Purpose

Inside the People & Purpose Program, we guide people through this work step by step. Not through performative posting or personal branding tactics, but through clarity, alignment, and intentional positioning.

The kind that feels honest, grounded, and sustainable.

If LinkedIn has been feeling heavy or confusing, it’s not a sign you’re doing it wrong. It’s often a sign that clarity needs to come first.

If you’d like support working through this and understanding how to position yourself with confidence, you can learn more about the People & Purpose Program here:

Clarity starts with knowing your non-negotiables

The biggest career shifts rarely come from chasing the next role. They start when you get honest about what you will and won’t compromise on. Naming your non-negotiables changes how you make decisions, how you show up in conversations, and what you say yes or no to this year.

Inside our community, these reflections create grounding, confidence, and momentum. You’re welcome to reflect with us and add your voice if it resonates.

A different way to approach career decisions

So many career decisions feel hard because the criteria are unclear.

When you take the time to define what you will and won’t compromise on, choices become simpler. You start evaluating opportunities with confidence instead of doubt, and you stop overthinking every next step.

If this sparked something for you, feel free to jump into the conversation and share what you’re learning or noticing right now.

What support really looks like after the offer

Landing the role is only part of the journey. The conversations that follow can shape how confident, calm, and supported you feel as you step into what’s next.

Having someone in your corner changes how you make decisions. You stop second-guessing and start moving forward from a grounded place, with clarity about what matters and how to navigate it.

A little community joy, straight from the kitchen

Career conversations matter, but so does connection beyond work. One of our community members shared this Filipino-style banana ketchup BBQ chicken recipe, and it’s the perfect reminder that this space is about people, not just progress.

Sometimes support looks like clarity and guidance. Other times, it looks like sharing a favourite recipe and slowing down together. Feel free to jump in, try it out, or share something that brings a bit of joy to your week.

The Job Search Has Changed. Here's What You Need to Know.
If submitting online applications is still your main job search strategy, it is time to rethink. AI tools now let candidates mass apply to hundreds of roles a day with auto-generated resumes. Is your LinkedIn profile holding you back
Most professionals assume recruiters read LinkedIn profiles. In reality, recruiters search them. When a recruiter is hiring, they are not scrolling through thousands of profiles hoping to find the right person. They are using LinkedIn’s search tools to filter candidates by specific keywords, job titles, and skills. That means your profile only becomes visible if it matches the way recruiters...
Are you a ghost profile in your job search?
You’re highly qualified. So why is your LinkedIn inbox still quiet? Here’s what most professionals do not realise. It is not about being good at what you do.It is about being searchable. Recruiters do not sit there reading profiles one by one, hoping to discover talent. They search. They open LinkedIn Recruiter or their internal database and type in specific keywords related to the role they...
